Despite the ceremony of the Albanian President in Vlore, the opposition
paid homage to the fallen martyrs of the war against the Nazi
occupation, continuing this way a tradition they have been using for
years.
DP leader Basha and former PM, Sali Berisha, placed flowers at the “Mother Albania” memorial.
The DP leader wished all nationals in every land a happy independence day, by not removing the attention from the political actuality.
“No other nation has paid more than Albania for freedom. This freedom is not complete without the freedom from tyranny, poverty, injustice in arrogance. I am convinced that this November 28th will serve for a new unification of Albanians, to give to our national freedom its true dimensions of freedom, democracy, progress, development and equal chances in front of the law”, Basha declared.
On the independence day, which for the Democrats is the Liberation Day, the opposition paid homage to the statue of Adem Jashari in Tirana. The DP leader said it is no by chance that he was born exactly on this day.
The ceremony concluded with a visit at the house of Azem Hajdari, the Martyr of Democracy.
