After three decades of dominance in the leadership of the Democratic Party of Albania, Sali Berisha began today a new political challenge without the official seal of the party which he himself founded.
Newcomer Belind Kellici, the Democrat candidate for the Municipality of Tirana, started the electoral campaign.
“Tirana will be no different from hundreds of cities around the world that offer free public transport.
Free transport for the citizens of Tirana! This issue is closed”, stated Kellici.
The faction led by Sali Berisha at the DP competes with his hard times ally Ilir Meta, with whom he intends to defeat the candidates of the Socialist Party in power.
“Edi Rama’s basement candidates deserve many labels, but I remind you that historically the devil has many names, so are Edi Rama’s candidates, people with many names because they cover their black past.
Rama and Veliaj are terrified of the May 14 elections because they know they will lose. Neither the DP seal that stole, nor Soros, can save Rama. You can’t escape any maneuver, you are completely hopeless, we are Albanians, not stupid”, Berisha said, addressing Prime Minister Rama.
The leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta reiterated the belief that elections will bring about the difference. “The time of change has passed, now is the time for revolution, revolution with votes, a revolution which will lead to the conclusion of absolute corruption, transparency and absolute accountability,” Meta said.
