The head of the Socialist Party, Edi Rama, declared during a press
release that the Central Election Commission, through an illegal
decision, is trying to change the result of the May 8th local elections for Mayor of the Albanian capital, Tirana.

The Socialist leader declared that he has the summary reports of every vote that has been counted in all 485 ballot boxes.

“I appeal Berisha to stop and avoid getting the process out of control. What Albania needs today is balance, calm. The politics owes hard work to the people and a vision for the future”, Rama declared.

According to him, if the Central Election Commission will infringe the law, they will react with all the strength of justice that people have in their right.

“No one can steal our result by force”, Rama declared.

A few minutes later, the spokesperson for the Central Election Commission announced that the meeting was interrupted and will start again after the situation in the meeting room will be normalized.

“SP deputies caused disorder in the room. The Central Election Commission guarantees everyone that every vote will be counted”, the Spokesperson declared.

Deputies of Socialist Parliamentary Group participated at CEC meeting for demanding the certification of the results for Tirana.
