Serbian elections on Kosovo territory violate the sovereignty of the
country. Opposition party representatives and the Parliament Speaker
asked the government of Kosovo to respect the laws and the Constitution
and not allow Serbian elections in Kosovo, as warned.
“The agreement was made by the government and we respect it. The government must implement them according to the Constitution and the laws in effect”, declared the Parliament Speaker, Jakup Krasniqi.
“It is an obligation of our institutional representatives to be consistent in their decisions and not change them overnight”, declared Ismet Beqiri, head of the LDK.
“This is unacceptable because it is a direct intervention of Serbia in Kosovo. The Serbian elections in Kosovo are unaccepted, may them be local or central. The government must take all measures for stopping this. Known the history of this government, they have always allowed these elections and we don’t expect them to do anything in this direction”, declared Visar Ymeri from the Self-Determination Movement.
However, the Head of the Albanian Parliamentary Group, Adem Grabovci, has nto explained if the government will stop elections in Kosovo.
“We respect the territorial sovereignty of our country and we will not allow for it to be damaged. We respect the Constitution of Kosovo and we act in coordination with the laws. As for their desires, it will remain a desire. Rules are rules”, Grabovci declared.
