Opposition absent in justice reform commission

Justice reform experts met as foreseen by their agenda, but not everyone was present.

The Democrats had warned to not be part of the meeting if anyone would not listen to them.

The meeting was not held because of the absence of the opposition. The other experts have waited for two hours if Sokol Sadushi could find a solution with Enkelejd Alibeaj during an informal meeting behind closed doors. But nothing ahs been reached.

The parties have met a stalemate at the mechanism for choosing the Constitutional Court members. The Venice Commission says there is a risk for the majority to cement its influence on justice when they have 3/5th of the Parliament.

The Democrats suggest to have a 2/3rd majority, which has not been accepted by high-level experts.

In this point, the opposition experts asked a political-level solution. This request was made public after the meeting of this Tuesday.

Top Channel has learned that the Democratic Party experts will not be present in any technical meeting, until the majority admits that the constitutional amend issues can be resolved with political consensus. The democrats are not the only ones to request a political solution.

The Minister of Justice from the Socialist Movement for Integration, Ylli Manjani, said that the opposition made its opinion very clear this Tuesday.

The Socialist have not given any reaction in the past 24 hours for this request that comes from the Democratic Party and the Minister of Justice.

What is known so far is that Prime Minister Rama declared one week ago that the justice reform is up to experts.
