The Financial Supervision Authority said they have reported four illegal
agencies that defraud citizens for investing in the stock market.
Pajtim Melani, Chief of the Executive Board, explains that the only
institutions that operate this activity in Albania under the watch of
the authority, are second-level banks and two private companies.

When asked if there are licensed operators who orient the citizens in high-risk and speculative investments, and if there are accusations that “Stock International Albania” is one of them, the head of the Authority said that their goal is to regulate rules for transparency and supervision, and take a look at their investment portfolio, because they all make a regular financial report at the Financial Supervision Authority. As for the unlicensed platforms who have branches in Albania, they notify the authorities from the respective country.

The spread of these companies have raised concerns among the other financial authorities which warn citizens about the risk and demand more supervision.
