One year and a half after the passing away of the Albanian politician
and historian, Sabri Godo, local and central administration
representatives, ambassadors, ministers, writers, relatives and friends,
gathered at the Parliament’s building where a bust of Sabri Godo was
placed today, worked by artist Paolo Viaggi.

“I am truly excited today, as many other who are here. We fulfilled his image in marble, and we hope that this will serve as an extra incentive for a better life and for better decisions, in favor of the issues for which he fought his all life”, declared the Mayor of Tirana, Lulzim Basha.

Sabri Godo’s wife and two daughters, Ermira and Anila, thanked everyone who was present for the honors that are being made today to the figure of their father.

“This is a day of peaceful resting today, and we hope that it will be the case even for later. Certainly that the time comes when one stops crying for his lost father, and starts seeing with a cool mind what he has done during his life, so that he can understand their essence and so that he can push them even further. For us this was in a very natural way, because your presence and your support during these years was a high honor and a place of peace”, declared his daughter, Ermira Godo.

“We though that he was gone, but here he is again with us, there where he interrupted his work as an Parliament Member of his country. Now he will always be in this Parliament. Sabri Godo was a fighter of freedom, and now this marble will always commemorate him as such”, declared the Minister of Culture, Visar Zhiti.

Writer and Politician Sabri Godo will always be remembered for his wisdom and tranquility.
