In addition to the increase in tourism this year in Albania, the number of road accidents has also increased significantly.
This is confirmed by the National Emergency Center, which says that about 10 road accidents are registered every day, which is also reflected in the INSTAT figures, where 125 road accidents were registered in July compared to only 105 in the same period last year.
“It is a busy period, the increase in the number of cars that proportionally increases the number of accidents on the road. It worries us more as last year the daily average was 46 accidents of all forms per day, this year it is more than 50 per day”, says Skënder Brataj.
Brataj calls on citizens to be aware of the traffic rules as there are thousands of accidents and although there have not been many losses of life, there are many who remain disabled or injured.
Many of the accidents are caused by the use of alcohol or narcotic substances mainly by young people. Brataj offers as a solution the use of taxis in case of the driver’s disability.
