Oil price might drop after Constitutional Court repeals tax

The Constitutional Court repealed the government’s decision which
increased the gas stations license price. The association of fuel
companies said that this would help reducing oil price.
“After the law will be published on the official bulletin, the fuel price will also be influenced”, said Luigj Aliaj.
The tax that had entered in effect on this June was supposed to increase the periodic permit price from 20.000 ALL to 5 million ALL for gas stations in the capital. For the others, it would be 2 million ALL. This increased the oil price with 5 ALL per liter. MR.Aliaj said that there should be a limitation for raising taxes and keep the proportionality principle.
The Constitutional Court was set in motion by the Union of Albanian Fuel Associations.
