Police announced that they arrested Odise Verbofshi, the man who has
allegedly executed and burned the bodies of two people two days ago in
Durres.
He was arrested in Poloske, Korca, close to the border with Greece, trying to flee in the neighboring countries. The Albanian authorities started looking for him yesterday, after they discovered the bodies.
This Friday police arrested Gazep Pili, a relative of Verbofshi, for helping him burn the bodies. The two victims, Shaban Babasi and Albert Kasalla, 27 and 32 years old, were both from the Fushe Kruje Village. Police found their bodies in a burning vehicle in the Durres suburbs.
After putting out the fire, the firefighters found the bodies, one in the trunk and one in the front seat. Police contacted with 36 people for the investigation, and were able to find traces of Verbofshi.
The two men were executed in Verbofshi’s house and then were transported to be burned and lose the tracks.
Investigations show that the motive of this crime is a drug deal went wrong. 74 kg of cannabis were seized in the suspect’s house, together with two handguns and bullets.
Verbofshi is accused of murder in qualitative circumstances, illegal arm possession, production and distribution of illegal substances.
