The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, spoke with the media before
flying to Berlin. Valuing the importance of this conference, Rama
declared that its goal is to build a stable political and economic
cooperation in the region.

For this reason, he mentioned a series of projects that will be discussed in Berlin, including the Blue Corridor that conencts Croatia with Bosnia, Montenegro and Albania.

Vital for the regional development is also the construction a regional railway and the energy integration through a regional network.

“Four topics will be discussed in this conference, including the Blue Corridor that will connect the Mediterranean countries. This project has been supported with strong arguments. There is also the railway infrastructure of the region, which is a challenge for our country and our region. There is also the construction of a regional energy network, a very strong reason for closing the gap between the region and the rest of Europe”, Rama declared.

A news has spread among German media these days, saying that Germany has spied on Albania and Turkey for years. When asked about this, Rama said that Germany is not a threat for our country, on the contrary.

“I will not treat the spying issue with Merkel. We are partners and we must do anything to preserve security in our countries. We will do information exchange in diplomatic ways. Nothing bad happens to Albania if Germany or ally countries do their job for security”, Rama declared.
