Professor David Philips, from the Columbia University, appeals for a new approach for Kosovo’s recognition by Serbia.
He says that the USA must increase their presence in the dialogue between both countries, as part of their strategic interests against Russian interventions in the region.
Prof.Phillips, Director of the Peace and Human Rights Program at the Columbia University in New York, says that Kosovo and Serbia should enter the EU at the same time, and the negotiations should have a given deadline so that they can be more effective.
In an interview for VOA, Philips proposes that the US administration should appoint a special envoy to have a closer look to the process intermediated by the EU.
