Not enough vehicles for transporting detained defendants to Court

Transporting detained defendants to Court has been a real challenge for the General Prison Police.

The Courts demand more movements than officers can carry, and this has resulted with delays.

The Chief of Operations and Emergencies at the General Prison Directory, Genc Fejzollari, said for Top Channel that the situation may improve if operation group would have additional transportation vehicles.

Besides the lacking logistic and manpower, Fejzollari says delays are often caused by quick court requests, when the regulation requires a notification of 24 hours before the session.

The prison operational groups also keep order and security in courts, besides taking care of the transportation of suspects.
