Northern Macedonia invited to join NATO

The NATO member countries signed the protocol today for Northern Macedonia’s accession to the biggest military alliance in the world. The first NATO member country that gave the signature was Albania.

The resolution of the 30-year-stalemate with Greece, regarding the former Yugoslav republic’s new name, gave the green light for Northern Macedonia’s NATO accession.

The Greek Parliament ratified the Prespa Agreement, which allowed their northern neighbours to call themselves Northern Macedonia.
