Former Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha, in a press conference, said today that he will file a lawsuit against US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, after the State Department yesterday’s announcement declaring Berisha and his family ‘non grata’ in the US.
Berisha’s statement:
“False assessments of my personality. I repeat that since I started my political life, since I touched the first salary in the state payroll and until yesterday, there is no one in Albania or the world who can say that I am or have been implicated in a corrupt affair.
“I have instructed my lawyer in a neutral and respected country such as France, to file a direct public defamation lawsuit against Blinken. He will be sued and convicted by a Paris court for defamation.
“This is an unforeseen decision in my life, but the issue of dignity is most essential for of man. Honor and dignity a man values him for himself, his family, friends and the community where he lives. I have been responsible for and tried to do everything for the dignity of this people”, said Berisha among other things.
