Nobel prize to Organization for Prevention of Chemical Weapons

Organization for Prevention of Chemical Weapons, based on Hague, and
which is supervising the destruction of the chemical arsenal in Syria,
won the Nobel prize for peace in 2013.

The award was given by the Nobel Committee leader, Thorbjorn Jagland, who declared that the organization is valued for their role in reporting the usage of chemical weapons in Syria, and for the commitment to destroy those weapons.

Among the record-breaking number of 218 candidacies for the Nobel Prize 2013 was the Pakistani girl, Malala Jusufzai, who survived to a Taleban attack because she didn’t want to sacrifice her schooling. A Congolese doctor was also another well known candidate, for the help he has given to the rape victims in his African country.

He Nobel Prize last year was given to the European Union for spreading democracy, and to President Barack Obama, Dalai lama and Nelson Mandela.
