The government has suspended all tenders for public procurements until
election day. The verdict taken in the last meeting of the Council of
Ministers is part of the Rama-Basha political agreement.
It allows only emergency purchases which are necessary for the functionality of the state.
At first, the decision caused confusion for the public administration and institution, due to a formulation mistake.
However, the decision is already being implemented. All public institutions have suspended tenders and prosecutions, making only emergency spending.
The decision was taken so that the budget was not misused for the elections. However, experts from the Ministry of Finances are concerned. They say that the decision may create difficulties for realizing budget spending, especially in public investments.
