The Democratic Party supporters and citizens affected by the recent
government operations against energy thefts and illegal buildings
traveled to Tirana from every city, to protest in front of the main
“Skenderbej” square and the Martyrs’ Boulevard.
People gathered in Tirana from various cities and filled the boulevard in front of the Prime Minister’s Office. They asked lower taxes, lower electricity price and more jobs.
The crowd cheered the Democratic Party leaders, who held speeches. Many Democratic Party MPs were gathered with the protestors.
The protest concluded calm and civil, without problems. Hundreds of police forces were engaged not only in the boulevard but also throughout Tirana.
Many female police officers were guarding the Prime Minister’s office and other buildings in the “Martyrs’ Boulevard”. The meeting lasted less than two hours and the crowd dispersed peacefully.
