The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared in a press release held
this Friday that June 18th is not negotiable as the date for the next
central elections.

“June 18th is based on the Constitution and it cannot be part of the negotiations between parties, because parties must guarantee, not intermediate the rights of the sovereign people”, Rama declared.

He underlined that if the DP decides to go to the end of a suicidal political strategy, as a Prime Minister he will do everything possible to allow DP voters to vote.

“The elections will be held on June 18th. Starting from May 8th, I will not be anymore available for Basha, if they don’t agree to modify the Electoral Code and vote the Vetting Law”, Rama said.

As for the threats of the Democratic Party to hold protests in Kavaja, Rama said he asked his candidate to withdraw, leaving to be understood that there will be no elections next Sunday.
