In his report for 2014, the Albanian President, Bujar Nishani, declared
that the institution he leads has been attacked by the government as
never before.

In an interview for the Voice of America, Nishani says that he has been attacked by the majority, which, according to him, is using the votes they have in Parliament to pressure the institution he leads, rather than working for the citizens.

“It was a difficult year and the institution of the President, more than any other time in the history of Albanian pluralism, has felt under pressure and was attacked by a majority that has no intention to use the Parliamentary force to work for the citizens, but for putting the country’s institutions in difficult positions, may they be independent or under their rule”, President Nishani declared.
