Nishani decorates Jonathan Moore. Decoration, or attack against Arvizu?

Even this year, the Albanian President commemorated November 28th at the
Palace of Brigades, where he decorates many personalities. The list of
names that Top Channel has received is topped yb Isa Boletini, the
patriot of the Independence Day, who will be honored with the highest
title, that of the National Flag.

What attracts attention in the list, is the second name, that of Jonathan Moore, a former official of the US State Department, currently OSCE Ambassador in Bosnia. He has arrived in Tirana privately, without an official agenda. Jonathan Moore was Director for Southeastern Europe at the US State Department for one year. He was known for his somewhat controversial declarations that were closer to the Democratic Party and the former leader. Now he will be honored by the Albanian President, Bujar Nishani, former Minister with the Democratic Party. Nishani will honor him with the decoration “Gjergj Kastriot Skenderbeu”.

The motivation is still to be seen, since the post of Moore has been occupied during these years by Jonathan Coutnryman and Philip Reeker, who have had even more impact in the US-Albania relations.

Moore’s decoration might also be some kind of action against the outgoing US Ambassador, Alexander Arvizu, by ignoring his four years in Albania and by honoring some months of Moore.

The same award was given by the President to the Albanian National Theater, the Albanians of America and other personalities, who have been honored for preserving the national identity and for giving special contributes to Albania in several issues.

Other names in Nishani’s list are Ymer Dishnica, Hysni Lepenica, Safet Butka, Medar Shtylla, Abaz Kupi and Mustafa Gjinishi, who will be honored with the titles “Honor of our Nation”.

The give names come from communist, “Ballists” and “Legalists”, but they have been ignored by the communist regime of Enver Hoxha.

Mujo Ulqinaku and Qemal Stafa will be honred with “Golden Decoration of the Eagle”. All the names who are honored are:
