Top Channel news editor-in-chief, Altin Kreka, described today the challenge by former leader of the Democratic Party, Berisha, as a deja-vu seen also with former PS leader Fatos Nano.
In the show “Zona Zero” he said that the former prime minister will obviously not be the future of the DP, but the internal race will make it possible to change the status quo in the largest opposition party.
Kreka said that a dangerous situation has been created in Albanian politics, when anyone who takes the post of chairman leaves only if he dies or resigns, never to be dismissed by the membership.
“Berisha has his right not to be buried alive politically. We have seen such a scenario with Fatos Nano”, said Kreka, referring to the former leader of the Socialists who left the party leadership.
“We will see a political theater. I think that this strong debate within the DP is positive, even though in this case it is former Prime Minister Berisha who, for biological reasons, cannot be the future of the DP.
“This internal race will eventually change the status quo because a very dangerous situation has been created, such as when they only leave the chairmanship when God takes them or when they resign.
“Party heads should have their rivals”, said Kreka among other things.
