Newly appointed Education Minister explains government’s process respond to students’ demands

The newly appointed Minister for Education, Besa Shahini, said for Top Talk that when the government will fulfil the eight requests for which students have been protesting since December.

“The eight points that the students have requested are just part of the problems. They haven’t focused on many other problems that higher education is facing. With the pact, we want to address another part of the problems. The issue will the fees will be resolved as soon as we get the lists from faculties”, Shahini declared.

The Minister also said that the ministries will fund universities for scientific research. There will be a higher budget, and the researches that ministries need will now be performed by universities.

As for the students who have isolated themselves, Shahini said that the government has already issued orders for fulfilling the demand of having tuition fees.
