New Year’s Eve in ALbania will not be celebrated in the same way as in previous years. Police have asked citizens to avoid gatherings in squares or public places and after 8:30 pm, to stay and celebrate in their homes, due to the pandemic.

“In other years we have gone out, we celebrated with friends, while this year, since the curfew, we will celebrate at home. Other years in normal time we went to bars and restaurants, while this year, we will celebrate at home”, say a citizen.

In addition to curfew, state police have taken additional measures to avoid possible incidents.

Since last year, firing of fireworks by citizens is allowed by obtaining a special permit from the police, while this year, according to official sources, no permit will be issued for pyrotechnic items. The only ones that will organize the firework shoes will be the municipalities and the licensed entities.

Meanwhile, it is planned to deploy a series of police patrols, in the main points of the capital, but also in other districts, in order for citizens to respect the quarantine schedule and avoid gatherings.
