Until 2020, Albania needs to invest 43.3 million EUR in combined transportation centers.
The transportation strategy, drafted by the Albanian authorities and the EU, says that 41 million EUR need to be used for building logistic inter-modal centers, which will connect roads to railways and maritime transportation services.
There are at least two centers that may be established, one in Elbasan, one in Milot, with 20.5 million EUR each.
These centers will have special implants for loading and unloading goods. They will be connected with all Albanian cities.
The transportation strategy says that 1.5 million EUR are needed for connecting the Durres Port with the railways. The government now needs to secure the funds for these projects.
According to the document, the logistic inter-modal transportation would cut the time needed for moving and processing goods.
