New point-based driving licenses

Drivers will have 20 points in total, and the infractions will reduce points based on the Italian system. Licenses will be removed when drivers will have zero points.

Official data show that more than 60% of the accidents in Albania take place due to human errors. The government has foreseen to make harsher measures, especially for higher tax increase, which has caused a strong public debate. But the Minister of Transportation said that these measures don’t have any other purpose rather than defending the citizens.

“Reducing the number of deaths to 35 each years, will mean that we have saved 35 lives, and this is very important for our mission”, Haxhinasto declared.

“At the Parliamentary Commission of producing activities, the Head of Transportation declared that the new Code protects roads from destruction. He added that the new package of interventions includes even the disciplining of gas stations.
