New Parliamentary mandates

Harsh tones and accusations about connection with crime were heard in
today’s Parliamentary session. The resignation of two women candidates
from the Lezhe District, and one in Durres, two from the Socialist Party
and one from the Socialist Movement for Integration, were the cause of
this clash.

The harsh tones between the majority and the opposition have returned in the Parliament floor. The reisgnation of two female candidates in Lezhe and one in Durres, respectively from the Socialist Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration, were the cause of debate.

The Minister of Defense, Mimi Kodheli, declared that it’s a shame that the opposition is accusing the majority for removing females from their seats, since the lady in question is sick, has to undergo a dialysis procedure three times a week and that’s why she resigned.

But the opposition declared that they were replaced mafia-style.

“This Parliament is submitting to the mafia. This is the most shameful compromise in history between the leaders, who removed two ladies and replaced them with mafia representatives. There’s a limit, you Mimi the confident, and that limit should not be crossed”, declared Parliament Member and former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha.

“We know each other much earlier, and I can honestly say that I’m grateful for saving my father’s life twice, but for the rest, you can’t compare with me because my CV doesn’t have and will never have murders”, Kodheli declared.

“Crime decides for Parliament Members to resign. This matter is not about women, but a matter of mafia that are looking for political shields through this mandate, and who want to be in Parliament. I reject it”, declared the Democratic Party Parliament Member, Jozefina Topalli.

“The criminals were removed from power and from the police after the June 23rd elections. Now they’re on the streets to obey to this bandit about what is happening”, declared the Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri.

The former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, declared that this was the second biggest attempt against democracy in the Parliament floor, after the one made against Azem Hajdari.

“The Democratic Party Parliamentary group reported this as a dark day in the history of Parliament. This is a day when crime prevailed in Parliament, and as sign of protest, we decide to abandon the Parliament today and we will communicate our other positions in the days to come. This is your shame”, Basha declared.

“This reminds me of the famous expression of a dedicated collaborator of the Albanian king, who wrote: ‘I wish you live as long as possible, because you deserve to never die and writhe sleeplessly in your bad, due to the nightmares you turned to reality”. They know what they have done better than all of us here, better than any investigator, prosecutor, judge and every Albanian. They know that no matter how much they have been prepared their army of corrupted people in courts, they can never know how this will end. You will remember everyone that has suffered damage by you in these years in this country”, Rama declared.

After the resignation of both candidates, the Parliament declared the vacancies that are sent to the Central Election Commission for making the replacement. The Socialist candidate in Lezhe, Mirela Neli, who replaced Merjeme Delishi, who also resigned due to health problems, will be replaced by Arben Noka. Silvana Maksuti of the Socialist Movement for Integration will be replaced by Bujar Derveni in Durres.

This is not the first time that this happens in Parliament. The Democratic Party candidate, Vasil Bici resigned and his mandate passed to Mhill Fufi.
