New methods for corruption in universities

The study of an organization has shown the perception of students about corruption in universities.

Student Anda Hysi said that professors have found new ways for corruption. They don’t take bribes directly, but they organize expensive courses, mounting up to 300 EUR for three days, and pass the students who attended.

This student is not the only one who admits corruption in public universities. The “Civilian Resistance” association says that 86% have noticed pressure, and 36% think that the corruption phenomenon is tolerable.

Civilian Resistance has carried out 277 polls for students in three of the biggest universities of Albania: Tirana, Durres and Elbasan. They also note that students don’t report corruption, fearing retaliation from professors.
