This Thursday, the Parliament will review a draft-decision that gives
green light to filling the vacancies at the Bank of Albania Supervisory
Council.
The Chairman of the Commission of Economy, Erjon Brace, explained the procedure for the new selections.
“First, the Parliament will make an appeal to everyone that has interest to run. Then, more than 28 Parliament Members must support two or more candidacies from the list”, Brace declared.
The Commission of Economy will start with a review of the candidacies only after those who inspire to be selected at the Supervisory Council of Banks will have passed through these links.
“The Commission of Economy will then be engaged to evaluated each of the candidates”, Brace specified.
The law says that the Parliament must fill two of the four vacancies at the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania. Another member will be proposed by the government. The last one will be selected by the Bank’s Council.
