New legalization law

MPs of the area voted against and declared that the new amends do not address to the real problems of the illegal constructions in our country. But the Chairman of the Commission, Eduard Shalasi, declared that this stance shows that the MPs of the former government, today in opposition, have not reflected about what he considered a failure of the Berisha government.

Shalsi, Chairman of the Commission of Productive Activities: Even today, same as yesterday, we haven’t seen any apology or regret for a failed process. Not only you don’t reflect after eight years, but you keep playing with the Albanian people.

Sherefedin Shehu, Democratic Party MP: You have removed the 30% of revenues for former owners. You remove the price that gives guarantee to citizens and that is part of the law. There are no limits now. You have changed the area limit to 500 meters. You have made things worse rather than improving them.

The Director of the Legalization Agency, Artan Lame, declared that in the legalization process will not be involved the objects that were built after the new Criminal Code amends will enter in act. These amends consider illegal buildings a criminal act, except for when it is built on the land of the owner.

“All objects will be included in the legalization. After 2009, nothing can be included in the legalization and anything that is built on somebody’s else land is considered a criminal act”, declared Artan Lame, Director of ALUIZNI.

As for the big number of buildings that have not been legalized, Lame says that the ALUIZNI building is one of them.

“We are so careful that the first building to be legalized is that of Aluizni, which was built wthout a permit. I have filed a case about this”, Lame declared.
