If fines for not having seat belt were increased significantly, police
proposes to suspend driving license for those who drive while talking on
their cell phones.
“Most of the drivers use Android phones, which requires the usage of both hands, turning into a source of accidents”, said Ardi Veliu, Director of the Traffic Police.
Only during January and September, 15.4% of the total number of accidents was caused by drivers using cell phones, 10.4% of these accidents were with fatal consequences.
Drivers caught for the first time talking on their cell phones will be able to go with a warning. But in a second time, their license will be removed.
