New law amends for legalization of illegal buildings

The Head of Aluizni, Artan Lame, introduced the amends of the
legalization law, which will make it possible for 60.000 objects that
have been illegally built after January 2009, to be included in the
legalization process.

These properties could not be legalized because of the changes at the Criminal Code, which considers their construction a criminal act.

The law amend proposed by the government will be followed by an amnesty. But the  certificate distribution process, especially in these electoral days, has not passed without critics.

The opposition said it was just for show. MPs from the majority requested concrete deadlines for the citizens to fill the legalization files.

“The Prime Minister is distributing them for increasing the citizens’ trust”, Lame declared.

“A citizen needs deadlines, not to wait for a show”, declared the Socialist Party MP, Artan Gaci.

“Governments set deadlines and then postpone them for campaigns. Nothing new with this government”, declared the Democratic Party MP, Genc Ruli.

The Head of the Agency for Property Legalization declared that 50.000 buildings have been legalized out of 350.000 in total. From the remaining 300.000 objects, 200.000 are in informal areas and are expected to end by 2017.

100.000 others are in cities and require more time due to the complex specific situations.
