New gambling tax law: “No expansion with unpaid debts”

Gambling companies will not be able to enlarge their activity without
proving they have no tax debts. The Ministry of Finances decided to
increase the inspection of one of most problematic sectors as regards
informality and tax evasion, and that also has huge negative social
consequences on the citizens.
The Interior Ministry started an operation with the Tax Directory two years ago, right after coming to power. Police forces blocked hundreds of gambling shops that had not paid taxes or that were unlicensed.
In parallel with this, the government proposedj a draft-law which, according to them, proposes clear rules about this activity. But despite passing in most of the commissions, the draft law has remained in Parliament.
