New draft-law and inspectorate for metrology

The Minister of Economic Development, Arben Ahmetaj, introduced a new
draft law for metrology, which foresees the creation of the Market
Supervision Inspectorate which will be the responsible authority for
metrological activities and market supervision.

Ahmetaj says the law turns this authority into a main institution for market supervision, including metrology functions.

The Parliament Members express reserves regarding the merging of scientific, legal and inspecting functionalities within one institution.

The draft-law creates the legal base for registering all pre-packaged products.
