Albania has confirmed yesterday the first cases of the new deadly coronavirus as a 28-year-old traveling to Firenze returned to Albania via the Muriqan border crossing, and allegedly transmitted the virus to his father.
After alerting the 127 emergency number, father and son were sampled for the virus and resulted positive for COVID-19. The two infected were locked in the isolation rooms on the first floor of the Tirana infective hospital. Along with them, there is a third person suspected of having coronavirus.
Health authorities have launched an epidemiological investigation to find persons close to the two infected. Medical personnel and police officers have taken the appropriate protective measures in the hospital.
