New coastline property law

From Himara, one of the most problematic areas about the property issue,
the Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama, together with the Socialist
working group for the property matter, presented the vision of the
opposition by proposing a special law for the coastal line that will be
realized by the next Socialist government.

Rama declared that they could not keep amending the property laws forever.

According to Rama, the eight Albanian institutions that treat the property issue have deepened their problems and conflicts by leaving the citizens’ problems aside.

“We need a new law for the Albanian coastline, and we will realize it when in power. This is a special law for the coastline, which means that the entire development problematic in our coastline will be treated in a special way. The coastline is a great national asset, where the national interest should be in good harmony with the private interest, where the property issue should be resolved, in order to open way to a stable development. No one should allow himself, on behalf of his private interests, to damage the integrated plan of the coastline development”, Rama declared.

Rama promised that the Socialist government will plan property related laws by consulting the residents, when such problems are present.

“The absence of the state and the abandonment that the state has done to the coastal line, has left territories without owners, which have then been occupied by those who are stronger and who have more connections, and who claims to be an old owner, while his fathers and grandfathers lived in the Alps. There must be a common law for the coastline and how we want it, so that it can be a place where the people can find peace, with this horrible property conflicts”, Rama added.

Regardless the chaos in the coastline, Rama declared that there is still hope to stop this barbarity and renewing the coastline by establishing the Coastline Development Agency.
