New archeological discoveries in Durres

While working on the foundations of an Ottoman building from the 1800s, other archeological objects have been come to light.

An ottoman gravestone was discovered, probably belonging to the then Turkish administration; a cannon, different from the one discovered a few days ago; and also 22 stone projectiles that were used for catapults.

Since 627 BC, when it was founded, the city of Durres has been raised and reraised on the same territory of today, under different rulers and civilizations.
