New archaeological discovery in Elbasan

Expets of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, decided to continue
the careful treatment of a newly discovered ancient wall in Elbasan,
which might belong to the ottoman period.
The ruins were discovered a few days ago, during the reconstruction of the “Thoma Kalefi” road, close to the Namazgja square.
This discovery attracted interest from archeologists who decided to follow the works very closely.
They say that this looks like the part of a castle wall, and they are studying the thesis of their connection with the castle in Elbasan’s center.
The Mayor of Elbasan, Qazim Sejdini, declared that this is another important track that proves the antiquity of this city.
