New action SP-SMI

The Socialist Movement of Integration announces the unification of votes
with SP in all local councils, and removes the political support of
every local representative elected by a coalition with the Democratic
Party”

Although Meta declared that the cooperation with the Democratic Party in the local level would not change, the firing of Ilirian Muho made SMI join the Socialists even in the local administration.

SMI says that this is only the first political step that will be followed by others.

“The opposition’s action in Parliament will escalate even because of the balance in CEC, and will be recognized only those decisions that have been voted 5 in favour and 2 against”, SMI declared.

SMI declared that the coordinated movements of the opposition will serve to protect the free vote, considering Berisha as the enemy of all free elections.

“This is the time when Berisha will definitively leave the government and the DP, which now is a state-party in opposition”, declared Ylli Manjani, Secretary of SMI for electoral purposes.

Right after this declaration, the first common action taken by the left was the meeting of the councillors at the Tirana Municipality.

They signed the request to summon the Municipal Council in Tirana, with the request to discharge the head of the Council, Njazi Kosovrasti. Being in majority, the left wing will appoint one of their own.

“What is happening today is the start of a very wide process throughout Albania, which will expand in all municipalities and communes where the political forces will unite to guarantee this. The SP and SMI groups of councillors have just signed the request to remove Njazi kosovrasti from duty”, declared Aldrin Dalipi, head of the Socialist Council at Tirana’s Municipality.

“We are not an opposition that reacts against the municipality or everything just because we are in opposition. We will hold right positions anytime that they are in full accordance with the law and the citizens’ interests”, declared the SMI group leader.

“While all institutions are under Berisha’s control, a wide cooperation and our political actions will guarantee the victory of the opposition on June 23rd”.

“Berisha cannot manipulate the vote of citizens, even if he counts the ballots at his house, with Shkelzen, Argita and Nul Moka”, Tahiri declared.

“Resolving the Fier issue”

After SP and SMI joined their votes in the local administration, the issue in Fier will be resolved. This was promised by the SMI leader, Petrit Vasili, during a meeting with the supporters of this political force in Fier.
