The new academic year did not start well for some students at the Emin Duraku school in the Albanian capital.
Although thrilled about the first day, carrying flowers for their teachers, they were disappointed to hear that the lesson would start only in the afternoon.
This has revolted several parents, who say they have not been informed. They accuse the directory of favoring some teachers with morning classes.
“The plan until this Friday was that the lesson would be held in the morning”, one parent says.
“This is a great concern for me, because I have not been informed. My child had planned to start the lessons today. The Director didn’t give any concrete reason for this”, another parent declared.
Parents say they will remove their children from this school for this reason. The school President, Irena Muho, explains that this decision was taken to reduce the number of students in classes.
“We thought to open this new class and reduce the number of children in classes. It was impossible to have all students in the morning lessons”, the Director explained.
According to her, second year classes have 32-33 students, while the first years have smaller groups.
