The government is still unclear about its negotiations for the maritime border with Greece. The Foreign Minister declared two weeks ago that a group of experts had started working for the negotiations, but this was categorically denied by the Prime Minister.
Two weeks after the first declaration, the Foreign Minister changed the answer regarding this issue and declared that this issue is being treated from the technical point of view at the Ministry.
“There are no negotiations or negotiators, but it is normal to have a technical treatment of this issue, as one of the many cases treated by the Ministry for our region or even internationally. I we will need to discuss with the Greek authorities in the future, this will be made in respect of the Constitutional Court decision, the Albanian Constitution and the international laws”, Minister Panariti declared.
As for the ban of Top Channel’s journalist from entering Greece, the Minister declared that it is a very serious issue and that the reaction of the Ministry was immediate by contacting the Greek authorities and by asking explanations, on which will be decided the further steps.
It is worth mentioning that even in the past, when Albanian citizens have been banned from entering Greece, the Foreign Ministry has reacted at the Greek authorities, but they have not published any answer from the Greek state for other flagrant cases, such as the ban of the judges who ruled against the OMONIA leader who desecrated the Boboshtica village graves for building a monument about the Greek soldiers fallen in Albania during the world wars. Greece banned judges Brunilda Mano and Aferdita Maho from entering Greece, arguing that they are unwanted and dangerous for their country’s security.
