The Ministry of Transportation has officially notified the legal
representative of “Catalyst” consortium in Abu Dhabi to start the
concessionary negotiations for the Durres-Kukes highway maintenance
within one week.

Sources from the Ministry of Transportation said for Top Channel that the talks could take three months, to discuss alll conditions, including the way how the Kukes residents will be treated with the 5 Euros payment, who requested to be excluded.

Only after these details are well negotiated, the parties may sign the 35-year-long concessionary agreement.

However, the Ministry of Transportation say that even after the agreement is signed, it may take six months or one year until the concession is implemented on terrain.

He maintenance bid was held this summer and the Ministry initially declared a consortium of Turkish companies as winners, but the decision was overthrown by the Commission of Procurements, which declared Kastrati and Salillari as winners.
