The Conference of the Nato Military Committee was held today in Tirana, with Chiefs of Staffs from member countries.

Western Balkan security was the main topic, and recommendations for continuing the Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan, and KFOR in Kosovo.

Albania confirmed to continue its mission in Afghanistan by increasing its presence there.

The Chairman of the Military Committee, General Peter Pavel, underlined that NATO will continue with the open-door policy.

But the alliance faces many challenges: “We are being challenged by government and non-government factors, military forces, terror groups and cybernetic attacks. Our responsibility is to defend the territory and our population”, Pavel said.
