National Theater Artists in protest

Artists of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet protested against
the initiative of the Ministry of Culture to equip with temporary
agreements all artists who work in this institution.

For them this is not only a way to close their jobs. The Democratic Party, through the Spokesperson Laura Vorpsi, reported this decision by considering it as an ugly act, part of the government aggression that doesn’t spare even the NTOB and artists.

She said that with this principle, the government is rejecting agreements by putting them into tests. Vorpsi accused Prime Minister Rama, saying that he had decided to take the control of these institutions, adding that now he will approve parts that will be put on scene.

The Democratic Party asked the government to withdraw from this act. The Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro, declared that artists have been misunderstood with the agreements that they reported as with a three month term. She said that the agreements will have a six months term, which will make way for the system of tests and meritocracy. She added that some of the artists don’t have regular agreements, based on the law.
