National road at risk by fires

The fires spread throughout Albania now are risking the closure of the Tirana-Elbasan national road.
Several hectares of forests started burning in Krraba, approaching to the national road and some residences.
The firefighters of both cities arrived on the scene, but the mountainous terrain made it impossible to take the fires under control.
The high temperatures are also helping the fires.
Serious fires broke up throughout Albania during August, destroying hundreds of hectares of forests and pastures.
The most problematic were the Dajti Muntain, in Priska; the fires in Bulqiz, Puke, Berat and Gjirokaster. Other problematic situations are those of Dhermi and Tepelena.
