The National Football Team of ALbania and its coach, Gianni de Biasi, received most
of the public’s votes, winning this way the poll organized by Top Channel’s
website.

It seems that the good football results have influenced most of the voters to put “Skenderbeu” in second place, the football team of Korca, which entered for the first time in the European League.

The third spot goes former leader of the Self-Determination Movement, Albin Kurti, current MP of the Kosovo opposition, known for his harsh stance against the agreement with Serbia and the border demarcation with Montenegro.

Sport takes another place again, this time mixed with charity. The fourth spot goes to Ismail and Gjetan Keta, the Albanian boxer brothers who saved a girl from death by donating the match revenues for her surgery.

The public valued individual efforts for preserving cultural heritage by putting to the fifth place Etleva Nallbani, the archeologist who saved the ruins of the Koman Lake.

On the same spot goes Edor Kabashi, the Albanian from Durres who was declared best scientist for his genetic research.

Ballist Morina takes the sixth spot, the man who raised the drone in the match with Serbia.

Prime Minister Edi Rama took the seventh spot.

On the eighth spot goes Ilir Hoxholli, former leader of the Committee of Cults. His initiative “A different weekend” contributes every week with food and assistance for families in need.

The ninth spot goes to Judge Idriz Mulkurti, who ended the “Dritan Dajti” trial after plenty of his colleagues had resigned from the case, despite the threats for his life, his daughter and his family.

The tenth spot went to the religious communities who paraded in Paris on January 2015, which brought to the eyes of the world the religious harmony of Albania only a few days after the massacre against the Charlie Hebdo newspaper.

What is noted in this 11th year of this poll held by Top Channel, is that votes going to politicians are dropping significantly.
