Nano attacks Berisha

The movement “Nano for the Victory of Socialists” appealed the left and
right winged voters in Albania to cooperate for fulfilling the 12
criteria set by the European Union for realizing the parliamentary and
electoral reforms, and for removing the immunity for receiving the EU
candidate status.

Nano attacks Berisha for his stance in favor of the Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Arben Ristani.

“Berisha’s support of Ristani is the stubborn and short-lived continuity of adventurous political journeys that shrink democracy, privatizes and politicizes the institutions and damages integration”, the declaration says.

For Nano, Berisha is showing that he is incapable of building a free, just and democratic society, worthy for the integration.

“Berisha works only for his party and his next electoral battle, by misusing his power and by damaging Albania’s EU integration and development. Berisha is failing to be a man of state, by confirming to be still a mono-partial model, like before 1990”, the declaration continued.

According to the Nano Movement, Ristani is the model of privatization and politicization of the Albanian institution, and as such he cannot be part of the continuity, with Albania’s EU reformation in play.

“By supporting Ristani and with the Democratic Party flag that was waving today in the office of the Interior Minister, Berisha shows that he is following the road that endangers the reforms, threatens the free and honest elections and punishes the Albanians with the next candidate status failure”, the declaration says.
