Ekaterina Trendafilova, newly elected President of the Kosovo Special
Court, (Specialist Chambers) announced today the names of 19 judges who
will put to trial alleged crime committed by the former Kosovo
Liberation Army, KLA.

Trendafilova said the appointed judges will be physically present in the room only by request of the Court President.

“The next step is the first plenary session, which I will convene very soon. During that meeting we will pass the Rules of Procedure and Evidence of the Specialist Chambers, which regulates the conducts of the proceedings”, Trendafilova said.

The Special Court was established after the Swiss Senator, Dick Marty, accused some KLA leaders of being in human organ traffic crimes.

A task force established and led by the US Chief Prosceutor Clit Williamson was unable to find any evidence for organ traffic, but he recommended to investigate the other war crime claims.
