Muslim community prays and celebrates Bayram on Tirana’s new Skanderbeg Square

The Head of the Albanian Muslim Community, Skender Brucaj, appealed for more love and solidarity between each others.

“God teaches us that the even the meat and blood of sacrifice cannot get at Him. The only thing that reaches Him is our devotion. Sacrifice is a way to get us closer to God, by sharing its meat with the people in need”, Brucaj said.

The Mufti of Tirana, Ylli Gurra, said this celebration is especially important in the current times: “This is the real day for praying the holiness of our God, not the false ones that are given in the media, showing massacres in which killers address Him by shouting ‘Allahu Ekber’. It’s the opposite. God has absolute power and a demonstration of his justice with people on Earth”, Gurra said.
