Municipality holds hearing session with Civil Society, which is divided on participation

The Municipality of Tirana invited the civil society to discuss the details of the playground at Tirana’s Artificial Lake.
Some of the representative of the civil society abandoned the meeting with the Vice Mayor of Tirana, Arbian Manziku, after they demanded the government to stop the works before starting the consulting process.
“We, as vandals, refuse to discuss about something that is illegal. When the Municipality will interrupt their work, we will sit to discuss”, said activist Anxhela Cikopano.
However, other members of the civil society continued the meeting with Vice Mayor Mazniku, who insisted that the project will be completed by June 1st. He even gave details about the master plan.
“I think that we need to preserve the concept of the forest”, said activist Lavdosh Feruni.
“We have planted trees. Our purpose for the park is to double the green space”, Mazniku added.
